Selling Vehicles
For important information regarding selling or gifting a vehicle, please visit the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website (flhsmv.gov).
For a vehicle to be legally sold, the lien must first be satisfied. Once the lienholder reports to the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles that the lien has been satisfied, the title can be transferred.
The seller must complete the Transfer of Title by Seller section in the front of the title certificate, including the name and address of the buyer, the odometer information, selling price, and date sold.
